4 Tips For When You're Not Feeling Creative
Anyone else feeling super tired this week?

Wishing that it was Friday when it's actually Tuesday?
At least for me, I'm feeling tired because I've been creating a lot lately.
Posts, reels, grant proposals, and workshops.
You might be tired for similar reasons.
Research is a much more creative process than you think.
You are constantly brainstorming solutions to problems, designing figures, and writing!
Always writing.
While the creative process is extremely rewarding, it does take a lot of energy.
And it can leave you feeling burned out if you’re always producing.
If you find yourself staring at your screen with no ideas coming up, you may need to take a break from creating.
Here are 4 tips for when you're not feeling creative:
Switch to low effort tasks and do them slowly. They may not spark joy, but they will let your creative side rest.
Browse for inspiration by looking at other papers or watching talks. Just make sure it’s an intentional search. No mindless scrolling.
Connect with somebody in person or over the phone. Spending time with someone can be incredibly uplifting.
Take an actual break, like a long weekend.
Don’t always wait until you’re on empty to do this either—I am so guilty of this...
Build these tips into your calendar NOW, so you can recharge regularly.
You have my permission to take a break.
